International Women's Day 2026

The Bhopal School of Social Sciences celebrated International Women’s Day on 7 March 2026. On this occasion, the Women Cell organized an engaging programme titled “Women: The Voice, The Vision.”

The event began with a formal welcome and introduction of the theme, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp and devotional songs. Principal Fr. Dr. John P.J. welcomed everyone and emphasized the importance of recognizing the significant role of women in building society.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Monika Shukla, IPS, Additional Director, EOW, shared her experiences and spoke about women’s leadership, challenges, and empowerment. She encouraged women to identify their inner strength and capabilities.

During the programme, Sr. Meena Jekab, Vice Principal of BSSS, was honoured with the “WINGS – Women’s Independence Nurturing Growth & Strength 2026” Award for her remarkable work in the field of women’s empowerment and mental well-being.

The event also featured a powerful theatre performance by Sath Aarti Vishwakarma and a musical presentation by BSSS Rhythm, which added vibrancy to the celebration.

Another highlight of the event was the release of the book titled “WINGS: Women’s Independence Nurturing Growth & Strength,” edited by Dr. Yogi Tiwari and Dr. Neelakshi Aroda. The book is a collection of 28 scholarly chapters written by researchers and professors, celebrating the empowerment and resilience of women.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks, highlighting the strength, voice, and vision of women as a powerful force for change.
