The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) in collaboration with HRDC and Department of Continuing Education, Barkatullah University, Bhopal, organised a seven-day FDP (Faculty Development Program) on 'Innovative Teaching Strategies for Effective Implementation of NEP 2020'.
This hybrid FDP was held from November 11 to 17.
Anil Swarup, who served as Secretary to Government of India in the Ministry of Coal, later served as Secretary, School Education and Literacy, was the expert speaker on the occasion.
The sessions were conducted online by experts in the subject. 590 participants from 10 different states registered for the seven-day FDP. Around 350 participants regularly attended the sessions online through Google Meet and YouTube.
On November 17, the valedictory session was held in the premises of Barkatullah University. In his presidential address Professor RJ Rao, Vice Chancellor, Barkatullah University, said "We need to sensitise the academic fraternity to adapt NEP 2020 and the FDP on innovative teaching strategies for effective implementation was one step forward toward the direction". He further appreciated the collaborative efforts put in by the Department of Education at BSSS, HRDC and Department of Continuing Education for conducting such successful and informative programme.
Professor K N Tripathi, Director at HRDC, summed up the entire seven-day FDP and expressed his desire to explore more possibilities of collaboration. Dr. Fr. John PJ, Principal, BSSS, said that NEP is designed to give the needed impetus to the education sector. Challenges to effective implementation can be overcome through innovative teaching strategies.
