The Investiture Ceremony is a solemn occasion wherein all the young students are well prepared to don the mantle of leadership and responsibility while carrying it out with utmost dedication. In order to scale the heights and reach the Pinnacle of success IGNIS, the BSSS literary Society under the aegis of the department of English successfully began its academic year of 2023-24 with its grand event ‘Open Mic’ followed by an Investiture Ceremony conferring the authority, inculcating the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, a college prefectorial board.
It was a proud moment for all the Parents to witness their children being invested in great responsibilities while embarking on a new journey as leaders.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp in the event symbolizes the ignition of a successful event with an enchanting and illuminating documentary on IGNIS, setting the stage full of creative talent and camaraderie.
Dr. Fr. Jomy Panithas Dean, Academics, BSSS administered the oath to the newly elected post holders of Club IGNIS where the President, Vice President, Administrative head, Promotions Head, Content Head and discipline Head were sworn in the oath. Fr. Jomy congratulated and blessed the newly elected postholders and asked them to uphold the values of the college with utmost sincerity, honesty, proper teamwork, and leadership qualities.
The mercury began to rise with the spellbound musical performance from the First Years which transformed the entire ambience leaving the audience captivated in awe. Their musical prowess added an unforgettable dimension to the event and created furious enthusiasm in the atmosphere. Pulsating ambiance, flashing lights, and foot-tapping music set the mood of the party right. In Open Mic the first-year students unleashed their creative energy and put up their beautiful performances in the form of self-composed poems, stand-up comedies, beatboxing, etc.
The excitement augmented to a joyful high when BSSS alumnus Mr Sidharth Jain delivered an inspiring speech, sharing valuable insights and experiences. His words served as a testament to the enduring impact of IGNIS on its graduates, leaving everyone deeply moved by his unbridled energy and leaving the crowd with joy and happiness.
The Chief Guest of the ‘Open Mic’ was Ms. Rubina Quereshi, senior faculty of Anand Vihar School who congratulated all the fresh budding talent of first-year entrants and also appreciated them for showcasing their talent. The event came to a closure with Sr. Sonia Kurian, Vice Principal felicitating participants with certificates of appreciation and memento to the chief guest.
The event culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks by IGNIS President, Ms. Yashika Agarwal. An exhibition placed by the incubation cell, BSSS helped bring the essence and emotions of art to the people who admire and understand it.
