BSSS celebrates World Nature Day with Panch Tatva theme
The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) celebrated World Nature Day on its campus with cultural performances, creative activities and environmental awareness initiatives centred on the theme of Panch Tatva—Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Organised by the Departments of Humanities and Psychology under Dr. Vinay Mishra and Dr. Ranjit Kaur, respectively, the programme began with a Royal Tonga Procession, followed by a welcome address by BSSS Principal Dr. Fr. John P. J. He highlighted the importance of the five elements in sustaining life and maintaining ecological balance.
Students presented performances including Panch Tatva and The Last Tree, conveying messages about environmental conservation and the consequences of ecological degradation. Indo-Western and tribal dances added cultural colour to the celebration.
Nature-themed fashion walk: A major attraction was the nature-themed fashion walk, in which students showcased creative interpretations of natural elements. The titles of Mr. Nisarg and Ms. Nisarg, along with runner-up positions, were announced during the event. Dr. Lila Simon, Academic In-charge, and Dr. Vandana Yadav, Head of the Science Department, judged the competition.
Musical performances and a grand finale dance brought the programme to a close. The celebration encouraged students to adopt sustainable practices and recognise their shared responsibility towards protecting nature for future generations.
