INAUGURAL OF CENTER FOR HAPPINESS AT BSSS BHOPAL

A unique initiative was taken by the Department of Psychology at the Bhopal School of Social Sciences for catering to the well-being of the students. The college signed an MoU with the Rekhi Foundation for setting up the Science of Happiness Center in the department. The chief guest of the program was Dr. Satinder Singh Rekhi who is based in the United States and has developed several such centers across India and abroad.

On this occasion, the principal Fr. Dr. John PJ thanked Dr. Rekhi for choosing BSSS as a partner in this extremely, socially relevant endeavor for the upliftment of the student community of BSSS. He also talked about how understanding the meaning and path of happiness has become even more necessary in today’s world.

The Head of the Department of Psychology, Dr. Vinay Mishra urged the students to make the most of this center and announced that a special certificate course on the Science of Happiness would be started at BSSS. He also mentioned that the syllabus and the laboratory at the department were upgraded to include relevant tenets of happiness.

In his keynote address to the students, Dr. Rekhi talked about the meaning of happiness, the biochemistry behind the science of happiness, and how our belief system plays an important role in determining our happiness. Dr. Rekhi explained the fundamentals of happiness to the students and invited them to adhere to certain changes in life. He also emphasized how important it is for young minds to be courageous.

Dr. Rekhi inaugurated a newly developed center for the science of happiness in the Department of Psychology and expressed hope that this would contribute meaningfully to a happier life for students.
