The Department of Social Work, Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS), organized an enriching exposure visit for BSW and MSW students to the Eklavya Organisation, Bhopal, with the objective of providing practical insights into alternative and learner-centred education models.
Established in 1982, Eklavya is a reputed organisation working towards strengthening school education through innovative, child-focused, and activity-based teaching methodologies. During the visit, students attended an informative orientation session conducted by Mr. Shiv Narayan and Mr. Manoj, who shared insights into the organisation’s journey, vision, objectives, and significant contributions to educational reform.
As part of the visit, students interacted with educators and staff members, gained an understanding of learner-centred pedagogies, curriculum development processes, and teacher training programmes, and were introduced to educational publications such as Chakmak. They also observed field-based educational initiatives, which enhanced their understanding of grassroots educational interventions.
The exposure visit helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and field practice, highlighting the important role of social work in promoting quality education and strengthening educational systems. The Department of Social Work expressed its sincere gratitude to the Eklavya Organisation for their warm hospitality and valuable learning experience.
