BSSS Hosts Nritya Nirvana - Celebrating the Fusion of Indian Tradition and Western Flair

The Cultural Committee under the aegis of The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) organised ‘Nritya Nirvana’ on 26 September 2026, an inter-departmental dance competition, reflecting the creative acumen of the young minds. The event channelized vibrant performances that transformed the stage into a platform for storytelling, ideas and social expression. The Department of Psychology emerged victorious with a compelling presentation on human–nature harmony and environmental consciousness, while the Department of Commerce bagged the first runner-up trophy with an energetic portrayal of the world of business and commerce. The Department of Computer Science and Application clenched the second runner-up trophy with a contemporary presentation on the digital age and the growing influence of technology. The event was graced by Dr. Soniya Nag, an accomplished Odissi and Kathak dancer and faculty member in the Department of Women's Studies, Barkatullah University, while the jury comprised Mrs. Kalyani Phagre, a celebrated Odissi dancer and disciple of Guru Bindu Juneja, and Mr. Harshit Vishwakarma, an experienced Dance Educator, Choreographer and Performer. The institution acknowledged the endorsement of Rev. Principal, Dr. Father John P. J., Vice Principal, Dr. Sister Leema Jacob, and Dean, Academics, Dr. Father Jomi Panithas. Appreciation was also extended to Dr. Ghousiya Parween, Incharge, Cultural Committee, Ms. Divya Tripathi, Faculty Coordinator, associated faculty members, and the student-led Core Committee.
